Our Editorial Team
Updated June 14, 2026
An independent editorial team covering American law with reporting, analysis, and clearly labeled commentary.
Who we are
Law and Everything Else is edited by an independent team with backgrounds in journalism, policy research, and legal commentary. We are not a law firm and we do not provide legal services. We work with freelance writers who are paid for their work and who publish under their real names with real bios.
What we do
We report on and explain the legal news that matters to ordinary people: court decisions, legislation, regulatory action, the legal industry, and the fast-moving intersection of law with technology. We aim for a handful of substantive pieces each week, supported by shorter briefs.
How we work
Editorial decisions are made by the team. We accept no payment from law firms, advocacy groups, or any party with an interest in our coverage, and we do not accept sponsored content. See our Editorial Policy and Ethics Statement for the principles we work under.
